Socks! What a beauty! And he'll grow up to be a well-disciplined cat if Mia has anything to do with it. Thanks!

Thanks Carol @ IBHQ. Socks has been a lively addition to the posse, but Mia keeps him under control, she can pack a hefty punch when she pleases! Thank you all for your kind comments.

Well, better looking than the Clinton's White House cat, also known as Socks. Top one looks quite the regal cat: but can it fly?!
mjc from NM,USA
Ooooo mia on that blue carpet, she's like a Whistler. And me and m'Marmalade Chum are pleased to see you're in Total Control mia m'dea. I don't think it matters whether Socks is a him or a her Carol, he/she'll be an it soon if not already!
Flying Cat from an admiring glance and a furry hug
ignore last comment i sent raed the blog with my glasses on this time and of course socks is a "mister" excuse me dear socks for this mistake

mjc, I think he's more along the lines of a Flying Squirrel, he leaps boldly from a great height into the unknown, usually aiming for Mia and finding a wall instead! It has to be said that that is probably a better option than Mia's paws! And Flying Cat is also very prophetic, Socks will be debitted in August.

Of course it's for his own good FC, I don't see his looks wearing battle scars too well. And I really don't need the local toms starting a 'scent' war on my doorstep, bleach can only do so much!
jas from under Mia's paw
jas:bleach is no good-try putting down loads of white pepper it stops the piddling(am i allowed to say piddling??)
carol from screaming at gabby the tabby
there's an interesting picture, scats of cats sneezing. I've also found that citronella oil works quite well.
jas from rescuing Socks again
not a bad idea jas,re citronella oil -any clues how to stop a cat piddling on your bed--gabby the tabby is a b****y nightmare-never had this problem with a cat before(i do try to keeep the door closed)

Did Carol from France just say piddling TWICE??? I am shocked. SHOCKED!!!
Flying Cat from the poop deck
update on socks please-oh and mia of course!!

I'm seriously considering changing his name to Scarface Trouble. He's a bit too optimistic in dealing with Mia and she doesn't suffer fools gladly. He's sporting a lovely collection of scratches on his nose, and I've lost count of the times he's ended up falling off the chair on to the floor when he chases her. Mia is rapidly turning all my carpets into mohair, the spring moult is in full swing! We've taken out enough fur to build another cat.

Somebody really needs to tell Socks that when he climbs a tree, it's a very good idea not to fall out of it! Fortunately, only his feelings are bruised. I admit it, I laughed....
jas from under Mia's paw
at least he got out of the tree alone---i remember a lovely cat we (or rather "I" had)Nessie--she was fantastic at climbing up trees---but could she get down???not on your nellie, muggins here had to climb up the b****y trees (as hubby refused of course-your cat-your problem)once the fire service came but i preferred to keep them(lovely hunks)for "real" emergencies, hence at 45+ I would be climbing trees like the tomboy i used to be!

Carol, just found your additional comments about citronella oil and piddling. The only thing I found worked with stopping the cat using the bed unwisely was my (in)famous imitation of a dragon - I don't wake up very civilised in the morning at the best of times and to get woken up that way is sure to guarantee fire and brimstone!
