Carol has been in touch with me. She says, 鈥淚 know I don't have a blog but wondered if you could publish this photo taken last night at my birthday bash, that way I can share my happiness with you all.鈥

thanks plaid-i did enjoy nz last jan.--bethells beach,corromandel peninsula--i fell in love with it,mount manganui,tuaranga etc just great and auckland is a really lovely city-only thing i didn't appreciate was jumping out the sky tower-but it had to be done--looking forward to bay of islands,cap renga,90 mile beach etc etc and of course "franz josef"glacier in the south!

VERY nice. The California wine they are drinking is a good vintage (I should hope). The fruity tutti is all organic, even free range. Am I the only thinking that handsome Pascal looks like a younger, better looking, more affable Arthur Miller? Nice hairdo, Carol.

thanks to all for kind words! mjc: ggrrr!!! the red wine we drank was "sidi brahim" a wine from morocco-as i had made lamb couscous,seemed normal to drink that. the champagne was "charles cazanove" brut!! whisky was "isle of jura--superstition" yes the fruit salad was organic! and it was GOOD xx

Thanks for wine tip, Carol. I'll check it out. Any specific year? # Saw two episodes of Father Ted last weekend, and laughed out loud. On what channel were they first aired (UK? Ireland?) I don't think they ever were played in the US, though I may be wrong.

thanks scallowawife--it was a VERY good night--got loads of pressies 'specially one from the man with magic fingertips!! nice yellow band with loads of shiny things (FC has the photo)we sat up till 5h30 in the morning talking(him)me crying,laughing etc(hysterical as usual)then he left to get an hours sleep before starting his first patient at 7h30--just realised today--10th july one year since i met the nut,wonder if he will remember(don't think he will)xx
