Yes, It was a grand day and the light was just lovely. Took a lovely stroll along the road to nowhere and loved every moment of it. Lovely snap by the way

That's amazing, Fred, those mountains were completely invisible in your earlier photo. Are you sure someone hasn't put a cardboard cut-out in front of your house? Along with the sheep?

Its views like this that makes you sure that you have made the right move

and my windows, years ago, looked over cane fields. No wonder I spent my time reading books.

How far are you from Vatersay, Fred? You could drop on a Sunday (what? no ferry? swim if you have to, meboy!!) and help Crofterbill fight erosion and righting up monuments. If he is left to his own efforts, it might take an eternity, and he'll never come back to blogging.

...you must have had fun waiting for abel to come and chop cane down...oh no, wrong way around...

With smart alecs like you around, FC, no wonder there are so few volunteers for Sunday school teachers, bible classes, catechism etc. Anyway, I did not wait for Abel. I chopped the cane down myself as needed for refreshment. Beats running after the ox drawn cart on way to the sugar cane processing factory, trying to pull out a stick of sugar cane.(yes, yes, early criminal behavior and all that) Cows chew cud, yours truly chewed sugar cane. And I never did make it to Borstal.

It's a tropical version of scrumping for apples. Very exotic.

Sorry about non contact..........pulled my back out, Had to go to hospital on Sunday could not walk. Well they dont think its a slipped disc, but I have to go to physio soon, we are in the process of moving the ruin by hand at present hence the accident. I will be in touch soon.
Fred from Point
Take good care of yourself, Fred. If I were in the neighborhood, I would bring you some chili stew to nosh on.

Fred, you did not have to go to the extreme of hurting your back simply to avoid spending your Sabbath helping Crofterbill on Vatersay to fight erosion and buttress monument.

Take care, Fred, and hope your back will be better soon. It's your body's way of telling you not to do so much! Perhaps you could make one of those boxes while you recuperate? Definitely no more manual demolition work for the moment, though! Good luck.
Jill from EK
Good advice from Jill. Perhaps Carol could spare the man with the magic fingers...or perhaps not. Speedy recovery Fred.
Flying Cat from Slow down you're goin' too fast...
Still lying on your back on the hard floor, Fred? Any better? Has anyone yet suggested a bed of nails? No, I am not proposing any such thing : nails could be rusty, and your tetanus vaccination not up to date. But seriously, hope you feel better soon Fred.

Just noticed on Squidgy's blog that Mrs. FB mentioned that you folks have chickens. Is that so? Coq au vin, my dear man, is very good for thrown backs. According to my mum, a young rooster is best (not sure why, but perhaps because he has not yet wasted his energies fertilizing range free eggs that cost more per dozen than the whole hen). So, cull, and enjoy the feast.
