More on the wind farm

It seems that Murdo was more sober than we thought and 8 or 9 really is a good number.
Angus's puppy's look great and I might even have one myself yet.
However there are some facts that I picked up from a European energy company who know about these things even more than Murdo knows.
Wind farms currently (excuse the pun) are only 19% efficient even when placed off-shore.
The average efficiency is only 10%.
That means for instance that a 100 Kilowatt generator will only produce 10Kilowatts and only for 36.5 days per annum.
The rest of the time the wind isnt blowing hard enough, or more like it here, its blowing too hard and the thing shuts off.
So, my question is, who wants to watch TV for 36.5 days a year even if there was anything good on to watch.
What happens to the stuff in the freezer for the other 329 days a year.
It doesnt stack up does it?
However, the tide is always there and if we took up the causeway and placed three turbines under it, and then reinstated the road, that might be a different kettle of fish.
Thats if you go in for fish kettles - although they are making a comeback I hear.

That Cameron chap, the one who flew thousands of miles to be filmed watching the snow melt, he put a turbine on his roof yet it will not produce enough energy to pay for the machine let alone off-set the carbon used to produce the machine. Such a person will be influencing energy policy yet he cant even make a sensible decision for his own house.
