Stones or Diamonds?

John Denver sings 'Some days are diamonds, some days are stone' and I have wakened up today with the cat dragging me to the fridge where her food is kept. Her look of saying 'I need you' certainly makes for a bright start to the day, and even though the glorious weather seems to have disappeared for a wee while, there is a feeling of optimism in the supabeachcomber abode. Could it be that having won 拢7.00 in the Euro lottery I have decided that tonight will bring me the 'big one'?
I hope your weekend will be more diamond than stone.

Hi there, & welcome to the world o island blogging! We Unst folk have been bloggin noo for a few months, & we're lovin it. I've been to Graemsay once, on my pall James's boat fae Stromness - you have nice beaches to comb. Have you seen the pics o Graemsay on Herman fae Mainland Orkney's blogs? Its nice to have someone close by blogging. I haven't been to Graemsay- but sailed right past to Hoy on Sunday. There was no sign of celebrations on Graemsay then, so I guess you didn't win. All we need now is a Hoy blogger.

Herman from Orkney

Cats are very particular animals and if your cat loves you enough to drag you about the floor then you should feel honoured. We've had pretty good weather really - its February. And as for beachcombing that shouldn't take you too long.Hope it was a big one.

Good to hear from you all. I'm afraid the lottery finger hasn't quite landed on this wee island yet, but we live in hope. I guess that makes me think of the song 'Just out of Reach' as all the high flying dreams are just that until the lottery comes a-knocking, but then I look round this lovely wee island and I feel so content, and lucky to be here, so I hope not too much is out of reach for you.

Graemsay - such a lovely wee island and the people who live there make it even better. Maybe more of the islanders could write about their lives or just comment about this world we all inhabit?

Hello everyone and a happy new year. All is well onhe island of Graemsay except for sniffles and colds and the expectation of snow, so maybe hibernation is on the cards

Meeeaow...is that Pat-the-onetime-pre-loved-bookseller? (I mean pre-loved books, not...oh for goodness sake!)

Flying Cat from not dropping by for a coffee any more

ooh! Ilike that. Pre loved as in a used car is pre-owned. Tidy way to sum up previous marriages, trysts, affairs and past live ins. I like it alot. Definitely on a par with POSLQ (posslque); Persons of opposite sex sharing living quarters.
