You would make pretty good health board management yourself the way you have responded to criticism. You seem to me to display behaviour which you accuse WI NHS of. It is the sort of reaction that is reported that employees of NHS Western Isles can expect if they raise concerns. You should not sack people just on a "feeling" as you suggest. Isn't it rather late for you in particular to suggest a constructive solution when you have already demanded all their resignations? Nobody has shot the messenger - after all, you continue to make your postings - but don't forget your blogs are simply your own views and interpretation of events. The health minister's visit is not unusual. He held a public review in Stornoway the same time last year and all HBs receive a similar visit. Since you mention the Comhairle why no mention about their management or cutbacks?? Do you know of any council employee who publicly protested against the giant windfarms? And what about the money saving changes in Social Work?

Iain's brilliant and huge question, 'Do you know of any council employee who publicly protested against the giant windfarms?' deserves a thread to itself.

Re: Iain Macleod from Stornoway - I shall take his first sentence as a nomination by him of A.L. to the health board management [if I read him correctly, he suggests that A.L. would be as good as, and not worse than, current incumbents]!! As to the Health Minister's visit: I notice that A.L. mentioned already that it was an ANNUAL review. As to who shot Liberty Valance: the butler did it, in the library. Take a deep breath folks before you blow up an artery (not a good idea anywhere, but perhaps more so in the western isles?), and have a bite of echt marag [NOT the no. 1 option on Annie Beag's blog!] to soothe the spirits (and help the digestion).

Try again. Iain, I completely agree with you on just one sentence out of your comment: This blog represents my views and interpretation of events. Otherwise, I couldn't disagree more.
