Dusk

This evening, I glanced out of a northfacing window at 23.16, and it was still light on the horizon. Took a picture of it with a very long exposure (about 3 seconds), and this was the result.

Yes, folk in the Northern Isles, you have even more light in the evening. I just want to share this marvel of the spring, which never ceases to amaze me.

Do the BIRDS stay up as long as there is light, and wake up again at dawn? Sounds tiring.

Yes to both mjc. The little birdies must cram all their breeding/feeding activity into every available daylight hour - it's a long day but a short season. Myself and my humans find the dawn bit most frustrating for different reasons. They don't appreciate being woken at 4am and I don't appreciate being incarcerated in the Sunroom of Eternity, while potential breakfasts strut their stuff with impunity.
