Burnt Bothies

Just a quick warning here - for all you fellow mountain-men out there! One of Scotland's best mountain bothies burned down last week - Bob Scotts in the Cairngorms.
This is a tragedy of massive proportions.
However it is hoped to re-build it. What does this mean for Island bloggers? Well there is an extremely fine bothy in Mull which is quite well used by people. Please please please be extremely careful if you light a fire - it is so easy for accidents to happen.
Many other fine bothies have been lost through carelessness - Bob Scott's is just the latest.
So enjoy the hills, enjoy the bothies but please be careful.
Roll on the snow....

As a fellow Mountain-Man and lover of the tranquility of bothies I too am disturbed by the destruction of yet another bothy. Something which is becoming a rarier sight upon the fells of the UK!
