June is the highest ranking woman in the Church of England.
On 1st May,听听she will be听installed as the new Dean of Salisbury Cathedral - the first woman to hold the post in听the Cathedral's听784 year history.听听As听Dean听she is the highest ranking woman in the Church of England -听and听she is听already听tipped as the first female bishop.
She听is one of the original thirty-two women ordained as priests in 1994.听 She听is also the author of a church document on homosexuality - reported to be so radical it had to be shelved.听
