The reality of married life nowadays is that the majority of marriages end in divorce. However, in some countries divorce is not always an option.
Chile is one of the last countries in the world where divorce is currently forbidden by law. But a Senate Commission is considering new matrimonial law that would give people the option of legally ending their marriage.
Opinion polls in Chile show that most Chileans want the legislation, but so far the campaign for this change has made slow progress.
