Saudi ID cards Monday 10 December 2001
Under pressure to give women more rights, Saudi Arabia has begun issuing identity cards to female citizens for the first time.

About 2,000 women have already been issued with their own cards, which include a picture of the woman's uncovered face.
In the past, Saudi women have only been named, and not pictured, on family ID cards which identified them as dependants of their husbands or fathers.
Jenni is joined by Dr Mai Yamani, Associate Fellow, Middle East Programme, Royal Institute of International Affairs, to discuss the impact on the lives of Saudi women.
