Women in science Tuesday 27 November 2001
The first WISE - Women in Science and Engineering Awards will be presented by the Princess Royal tonight, recognising women's contribution to the world of science.

But there's growing evidence to suggest that science and family life don't mix.
Recent research shows that women who climb to the top of the scientific tree are less likely to have a partner and children than women in other professions.
Jenni talks to Sociologist Judith Glover of the University of Surrey, Tracy Hussell of Imperial College, London, and Jean Palutikov of the University of East Anglia, about the choices they face in pursuing their careers in their chosen fields.
