George Frederick Handel, although German by birth, spent most of his life and career in London.
In 1710, the composer arrived at the court of Queen Anne, and quickly became London's favourite composer of opera.
In 1723 he moved into a house in Mayfair, staying until his death in 1759. Ten years ago the Handel House Trust acquired the house, where great works such as The Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Music for the Royal Fireworks were composed.
Today 25 Brook Street opens its doors to the public as the Handel House Museum.
Curator Jacqueline Riding took Henrietta Otley around the house.
