The Pioneering Garretts 22 Feb 2008
Millicent and Agnes Garrett at home, circa 1865
A听fascinating family of extraordinary abilities and interests

The achievements of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, the first woman doctor to qualify in England, and Millicent Garrett Fawcett, the leader of the movement for women鈥檚 suffrage, are well known and celebrated; but less well known is that there were four other high-achieving sisters -听part of a large, equally fascinating family of extraordinary abilities and interests. Ritula hears about them from Jenifer Glynn, the author of 'The Pioneering Garretts'.

'The Pioneering Garretts' by Jenifer Glynn is published by Hambledon Continuum, ISBN: 978 18472 5207 4.
