Liz Bonnin

As well as being a consummate presenter, French-born and Dublin-raised Liz is a bona fide scientist. She has a degree in biochemistry from Trinity College, Dublin, and a master’s degree in wild animal biology and conservation from the Zoological Society of London.

She graduated with a distinction and a bundle of prizes for the best this and that, including for her tiger research, and remains involved in big cat conservation work.

And her studies have paid off – as well as co-presenting Bang, Liz is part of the Stargazing LIVE team on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two, and her Super Smart Animals series was a big success on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One. She has also filmed a Siberian Tiger project for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two.

You may even recognise Liz from her days before Bang, on Top of the Pops, Brat Camp Unseen (E4), and RI:SE (Channel 4).

Her science presenting goes way back too, having fronted a four-part documentary series called Science Friction for Irish channel RTE, covering topics such as nuclear power, stem cell research and obesity.

"For me Bang is all about reigniting the inherent curiosity we have about the world around us," says Liz, "hopefully it can also inspire future young scientists as we showcase the groundbreaking work of extraordinary professionals who are shaping our planet."
