He's ready to be schooled in the world of Strictly

Stepping out of the classrooms of Waterloo Road and into to the Strictly Ballroom, welcome Adam Thomas to the class of Strictly 2023!

Most of us will know Adam for his portrayal of lovable bad boy Donte Charles in school drama series Waterloo Road, which he started playing at the age of 17 in 2006. Appearing in the first four series of the show before departing and returning to its 2021 reboot, Adam has since been nominated for the Best Drama Star award at the 2023 Inside Soap Awards for his role.

Making his on-screen debut in Doctors in 2002, he landed himself a role in 成人快手 medical drama Casualty in 2004, before featuring in Rock on, Troglodyte in 2008. In 2009, he solidified his soap star status with character Adam Barton in long-running series Emmerdale, where he tackled storylines including mental health and fertility, which resulted in Adam winning Best Newcomer award at the TV Choice Awards in 2010.

Taking a break from the Dales in 2016, Adam competed as a contestant on the 16th series of reality survival show, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, and three years after his appearance on the main show, he was made the co-host of the final series of spin-off show Extra Camp.

Joining forces with his brothers Ryan and Scott in 2020, Adam co-presented the docuseries Absolutely India: Mancs In Mumbai, exploring his family’s Indian heritage, before starting podcast Mancs on the Mic, giving fans an inside scoop to their brotherly relationship.
Adam has since gone to feature on Don’t Rock The Boat, Catchphrase, The Hit List and Family Fortunes and now he’s about to join us on the Strictly dancefloor every Saturday night. We can’t wait to see him perform!
