'Vicar of Dibley inspired me to become a vicar'

The 90s hit TV show starring Dawn French has had a lasting legacy within the church.

Ruthi Gibbons is an ordained minister of the Church of England. She told 5 Live's Tony Livesey that the character of Geraldine Granger inspired her to become a vicar.

She said 鈥淚 remember watching The Vicar of Dibley and thinking, do you know what? If Geraldine Granger can be a vicar, then maybe Ruthi Gibbons could be a vicar as well.鈥�

鈥淚t turns out when you meet other young women who are training to be vicars, quite a lot of them have watched Vicar of Dibley.鈥�
