Cyndi Lauper on Girls Just Want To Have Fun: 鈥楾hey said to me: It could be an anthem鈥

Ahead of performing on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage for the first time, singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper joined Anita Rani as part of our special Glastonbury programme.

The self-proclaimed feminist, campaigner & activist told Anita how her iconic song, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, became the anthem it is today.

It was written by a man, Robert Hazard, but she had it rewritten from a woman鈥檚 perspective, to reflect her own experience, and is now used on placards at women's rights rallies - 鈥楪irls Just Wanna Have Fundamental Rights鈥.

You can listen to the full interview with Cyndi, and our special programme live from Glastonbury on 成人快手 Sounds 鈥 it's the Woman鈥檚 Hour episode from 28 June.
