PM quizzed on scientists wanting UK borders closed
The Labour leader Keir Starmer has questioned the prime minister about why UK borders have not been closed to protect against the arrival of new variants of Covid-19.
But Boris Johnson told MPs said the SAGE scientists "did not recommend a complete ban" and the UK had "one of the toughest regimes in the world" for those arriving.
