Martin Luther King III: β€˜Many of the statues need to come down’

Martin Luther King III, son of the civil rights protester Martin Luther King Jr, says many statues β€œdo need to come down, but I think there is a political process and method for it to happen.”

Speaking to 5 live’s Emma Barnett, he said the β€œbent of the life of a person” should be considered before any effigies are removed, but that β€œwe need unifying statues that represent all of the people, not just one part of the population”.
