A sex worker has revealed she lies to landlords in order to find places to live.
Mum-of-two Charlotte Rose, 39, said she has been evicted on two occasions, even though it is legal in the UK for someone to sell sex in a property alone.
If more than one sex worker sells sex on the same premises it is known as ‘brothel-keeping’, which is against the law.
"If I need a property I still lie. I need to work and this type of work suits me," Ms Rose, from Nottingham, said.
"All I'm asking for is for sex workers like myself and others to be not judged for our choice of work.
"Is it that much to ask to feel safe in a home?"
Meera Chindooroy, policy and public affairs manager at the National Landlords Association (NLA), said: "Landlords should consider prospective tenants on a case-by-case basis.
"In agreeing a tenancy, landlords will take into account not just whether a tenant can sustain a tenancy financially, but also the impact of the tenancy on neighbours and the community."
