A passenger on a different plane who witnessed a plane crash at Malta Airport described observing 鈥渁 massive burst of flames鈥�.

Five people died after the twin-prop Metroliner crashed at 5:30 BST after taking off from Luqa airport on a flight to Libya.

Edward De Gaetano caught the incident on camera and told 5 live that the 鈥渟urrounding area was engulfed in smoke and fire鈥�.

鈥淭here was panic, because no one knew what was going on and we were close to the incident,鈥� he added.
