Malta plane was βdown before anyone knew itβ
A passenger on a different plane who witnessed a plane crash at Malta Airport described observing βa massive burst of flamesβ.
Five people died after the twin-prop Metroliner crashed at 5:30 BST after taking off from Luqa airport on a flight to Libya.
Edward De Gaetano caught the incident on camera and told 5 live that the βsurrounding area was engulfed in smoke and fireβ.
βThere was panic, because no one knew what was going on and we were close to the incident,β he added.
