Multi-award-winning instrumentalist and composer from County Mayo, Ireland, Éadaoin Nà MhaicÃn, spoke to 5 Live Drive’s Sonja McLaughlan about how an afternoon lesson turned into the performance of a lifetime.
When one of The Corrs’ members had to pull out of a show at the last minute, the band were in desperate need of a skilled fiddle player.
Éadaoin, who was teaching a workshop at the time, got a call from Irish musician, Sharon Shannon, to see if she would like to play with The Corrs.
With no time to prepare, Éadaoin travelled to Glasgow, swapping her classroom workshop for the lights of the OVO Hydro arena, playing in front of 1,400 people.
