How a strike may force Iceland out of Eurovision
A lawyer for a group of unions says Iceland's Eurovision song for 2015 may not be entered due to ongoing strike action.
Erna Gu冒mundsd贸ttir from the Association of Academics - an umbrella group which represents a group of striking unions - told 5 live: "For many years it has been the role of our notaries district commissioner in the capital to monitor and verify the conclusions of the Icelandic jury in Eurovision. The lawyers cannot continue operating as usual, and it is against the law to hire replacement workers to do the jobs for those that are on strike."
"It's not a good situation," she told Rhod Sharp. "It's a big event in Iceland, for all those that participate and also for the public. The families gather and we have parties and we watch it all the night so it's a big event for us."
The track "Unbroken" by Mar铆a 脫lafsd贸ttir had already been chosen by Iceland.
