DNA expert: Meredith Kercher case was 'bad data'
A DNA expert who worked on the defence case for Amanda Knox has told 5 live "the whole family's very happy to get on with their lives".
Greg Hampikian, Professor of Biology and Criminal Justice at Boise State University in Idaho, says that Italian investigators "persisted in accusing two people for whom there was such slim evidence".
The Knox family, he says, "have been under a tremendous amount of stress, and I think it was really starting to wear out Amanda."
"She's trying to start her life as a young woman, so hopefully this will be a really wonderful change, and a new day for them."
