EastEnders composer wrote its theme tune by mistake
EastEnders theme tune composer, Simon May, explained how making a mistake when writing the song's melody led him to its final version.
He wrote the theme tune on his keyboard at 10am on a "sunny day in Surrey", and used piano scales he learnt during his childhood to help compose the track.
Mr May explained the story of writing the EastEnders theme tune on the 30th anniversary of the soap's first episode.
