A former Neighbours star says Australia joining the Eurovision song contest is the "most exciting thing ever" and he would 鈥渁bsolutely love to be there". The contest's organisers have invited the country to participate as part of Eurovision's 60th anniversary celebrations.

Dr Karl Kennedy, whose real name is Alan Fletcher, told 5 live 鈥淎ustralians really love Eurovision鈥� and 鈥渁udiences flock to it".

If he gets the call, he says he is happy to represent Australia himself. 鈥淚鈥檇 be there with bells on. I think I鈥檇 probably have to wear a wig and grow a beard. But I鈥檇 be happy to do anything. The sequin suits: I can see it all now鈥�.

He admits the Wiggles, AC/DC or Olivia Newton-John might be better choices.
