Ebola volunteer: 'Staggered' by colleague's diagnosis
A health worker who was diagnosed with Ebola after returning to Scotland from Sierra Leone has arrived at a specialist treatment centre in London.
Pauline Cafferkey normally works at Blantyre Health Centre in South Lanarkshire and had been working with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone since November at a newly built hospital run by Save the Children.
Dr Martin Deahl knows Ms Cafferkey and travelled back from Sierra Leone with her.
He was "staggered" by the diagnosis as all the volunteers had "absolute confidence" in their equipment.
Two other people in the UK are also being tested for Ebola. One of them is a woman who had been staying at a youth hostel in the Highlands, after recently returning from West Africa. The other is a patient who has been placed in isolation in hospital in Truro.
