Women could have British army combat roles by 2016
Former female army officer, Ashley Merry, said women are not "physically strong enough" for combat, but ex-RAF officer, John Nicholl, thinks women "are as good" as men.
Although the two agreed women "are equal" in their ability, Merry felt "we should be concentrating on other things" ahead of this issue.
Mr Nicholl added that women "deserve the chance" to perform in infantry roles, as they are already "killing at close range" in combat.
The debate follows the announcement that women could be allowed to serve in British infantry units for the first time by 2016.
