Murder 'more likely' in children's films
Murder is 2.8 times more likely to occur in children's animated films than in films for adults researchers say
A team of scientists have studied the top grossing animation films of all time and have discovered that two-thirds of the cartoons depicted the death of an important character, compared with half of comparable adult films.
Dr James Kirkbridge, one of the researchers behind the study, said "there are some very gruesome deaths" including Bambi's mum.
He said animated films could be a "great way" to introduce children to "difficult concepts" like death.
