Dominic Simpson, a volunteer with Winston鈥檚 Wish, makes the Radio 4 appeal on its behalf. The charity helps bereaved children, teenagers and young adults come to terms with their grief after the loss of a loved one.

Oliver鈥檚 mum Sophie died when he was 8, so he won鈥檛 get the chance to make new memories with her. Coming to terms with her death hasn鈥檛 been easy, but Winston鈥檚 Wish has been there to help him understand the difficult feelings grief can bring.

Oliver鈥檚 journey through grief is far from over. He will grieve for his mum forever. But Winston鈥檚 Wish will be there for Oliver as he grows, helping him to cope. Slowly, he鈥檚 finding ways to enjoy life again, even as he continues to miss her.

You can make a difference
拢30 could fund one hour of with a Bereavement Support Worker for a child like Oliver. That one hour can help a grieving child find their way through the heavy emotions they are facing and give them tools to cope.
