Southwell 15
Stephanie Connell and Gary Pe lead two teams around an antiques fair in Nottinghamshire while the clock ticks down to the auction in Derby with James Lewis.
The teams are hoping to have it all sewn up on today’s show from Southwell Racecourse in Nottinghamshire. While they shop for three bargains each to take to auction, Natasha Raskin Sharp visits a museum in nearby Ruddington, where families of knitters toiled away in the 19th century making stockings.
Like many villages, Ruddington had scores of ‘frame shops’, where knitters used noisy machines to create woollen garments. In one of these restored shops, Natasha experiences the din made by these machines and gets a crash course in operating one!
The teams are careful not to drop a stitch as they try to complete Natasha’s challenge. Gardener Nicola spots a metal daffodil with dad Dave, but expert Stephanie Connell doesn’t smell a profit. Martin picks up a wooden hop shovel, but his expert, Gary Pe, doesn’t think it’s unusual enough and tells him to ‘hop it’!
At the auction in Derby, James Lewis is on the rostrum. Gavel in hand, can he hammer out a profit for both teams?
