Maretha, a single mother of five who also looks after her four orphaned nieces and nephews, was struggling to get by. After receiving training and a loan from MicroLoan Foundation Maretha now has three profitable businesses.

Maretha runs a small maize and soya farm, a roadside caf茅聽and a grocery stall. A stable income means she can now provide food, clothes and an education for all of the children in her care. And she鈥檚 employing her eldest daughter.

You can help a woman in sub-Saharan Africa, living on less than 拢2 a day, start a business. With limited literacy, few job opportunities, and no access to traditional banking, escaping poverty is nearly impossible without support.
