Living Between Enemy Lines

Inside Korea's Demilitarised Zone sits a tiny village, metres from North Korea. The strip of no man's land separates north and south, and is home to a community secured by more than 800 soldiers.

The village was supposed to symbolise peace and hope that one day Korea would be reunified. But 70 years on, the Peninsula is still divided. The villagers remain cut off from South Korea by layers of fences and security, yet the only thing separating them from North Korea is an invisible border. As hopes of reunification fade, the village's population is dwindling.

With security forces desperate to save the village from extinction, the 成人快手's Seoul correspondent Jean Mackenzie has secured rare access to the people who live there and the soldiers who guard them. It also includes an interview with Jean Mackenzie explaining how she secured this filming.
