Jake Shears chooses his final Tracks Of My Years

Former Scissor Sister-turned solo mister Jake Shears chooses his final Tracks of My Years. Plus, Ten to the Top is back at 10:30 and there's the Record and Album of the Week.

Former member of the Scissor Sisters turned solo star Jake Shears chooses his final Tracks of My Years.

Three times BRIT Award winners Scissor Sisters released four albums together, including their self-titled debut (the UK's best-selling album of 2004) and hits include I Don't Feel Like Dancing, Laura and Filthy/Gorgeous.

Jake released his self-titled debut solo album in 2018, and on June 2nd the long-awaited follow up ‘Last Man Dancing’ arrives, which features Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia, Jane Fonda and more. The lead single Too Much Music was released at the beginning of this year, and was one of the songs Jake performed in Radio 2's Piano Room in February.

Away from performing, Jake's been keeping himself busy writing - having written music for Tales of the City, a 2011 stage musical based on Armistead Maupin’s bestselling book series, he's also teamed up with Elton John to write the lyrics for the new musical Tammy Faye.

Jake's also written and performed with Kylie, duetted with Cher, starred in Kinky Boots on Broadway and appeared on The Masked Singer.

And as well as putting on several shows around the launch of his new album, Jake will also be appearing at Brighton Pride and opening for Duran Duran for their UK Tour.

Jake's final tracks come from Glen Campbell and Abba.

Plus, Gary's got another edition of Radio 2’s new mid-morning music quiz Ten to the Top plus there's the Love Song messages and the Record and Album of the Week.
