'Why do Americans only use snowploughs on the roads?'
Pawnbroker says he has some advice on how to treat ice on the roads.
"What was the outcome of your consultation yesterday with Big Stout Ferguson?" asks Charlie in Belfast.
On yesterday's show, Pawnbroker told Sean that you should never put table salt on concrete to thaw the ice, because it cracks the concrete, over time. Sean said he would ask Stout, as a master bricklayer who knows about these things.
"I'm wondering if you ever got talking to big Stout Ferguson about the salt," Pawnbroker says.
"I didn't get to talk to him," Sean says. The line was engaged when I rang him during the programme. Then after the programme I forgot to ring him. So I don't know the answer."
"Why is it," Pawnbroker says, "that in America they only use snowploughs on the roads?"
"Well they would hardly use them in the fields," Sean says. "Where else would you use them?"
"They never use gritters. Or salt," Pawnbroker says. "That's because the roads are made of concrete."
"OK!" Sean says. "That's put me in my box. You win!"
