'There were no 'mums' in those days!'

Sean says he always used to order two sausages from the local chip shop.

"I took a notion for a fish supper yesterday," says Ron in Belfast. "Do you know how much it cost? 拢9.95! It's now dearer than beef!"

"I remember in our house," Sean says, "my mother on a Friday asked what did we all want from the chippie. 'Two sausages mammy', I said. There were no 'mums' in those days. I hate that word! If I had said, 'l'll have two sausages, mum,' she would have hit me with a wet dishcloth!"

With music from Shakin' Stevens, Andy Fairweather-Low, Christy Moore, and more.
