Chamber music from Radio 3's New Generation Artists: Johan Dalene and Charles Owen play Ravel's Violin Sonata in G major, recorded last year at the Brittne Studio, Snape. Before that, we'll hear Stanford's song 'La belle dame sans merci', a setting of Keat's ballad of the unnamed knight fatally bewitched by the mysterious 鈥榝aery鈥檚 child'. After the Ravel sonata, Catriona Morison sings 'Silent Noon', the most well-known and beautiful song from Vaughan Williams's cycle, 'The House of Life'.
