Early music soprano and fortepianist Tobias Koch perform songs by CPE Bach, interspersed with the composer's solo keyboard music. The theme of the recital is 鈥淥n Kissing鈥�, and the songs are grouped under the headings: 鈥淰om K眉ssen allgemein鈥� (On Kissing, in general); "Alles, nur nicht K眉ssen" (Anything but Kissing); and 鈥淰om Todeskuss aus dem Schierlingsbecher鈥� (On the Deadly Kiss from the Cup of Hemlock) with Heinrich Wilhelm von Gerstenberg鈥檚 arrangement of the Fantasia in C Minor, underlaid with Socrates鈥檚 monologue on death. The recital concludes with CPE Bach's secular cantata Die Grazien (The Graces), which includes confusion, mistaken identity, and in keeping with the theme of the programme, a kissing game.
