September 16th 1977 marks the anniversary of the passing of Marc Bolan. He was one of the leading figures in the Glam Rock movement that swept the country during the first half of the decade, and so much of the music from that era still sounds amazing today. All of which seems like the perfect excuse to look back one that time with a hour of party favourites, crowd pleasers and an unexpected gem or two that you may not have heard in a while. Plus we’ll have some memories and tales from Glam fan Gary Numan, Andy Scott from The Sweet, and Dave Hill from Slade.

All the usual features are here in the first hour too, with the new addition to ‘Johnnie’s Jukebox’ coming from a great Glam act who were scoring their second no.1 in September 1973. The ‘One of A Kind’ slot is back, today with a standout song from 1979 that became the only hit for one particularly talented woman.
