For The Record tells of the Canadian DJ’s incredible career, including his time at Radio Luxembourg in the early 70s (where he began playing and championing album tracks from unknown bands), through to his days at Radio 1 and beyond. In the book, he also talks of his day to day life now with Parkinson’s Disease in amongst so many absorbing anecdotes and tales of his fascinating journey in the music business. And we’ll find out on the show if he still loves being known as ‘The Kid’ almost 50 years since he first earned the nickname!

Johnnie’s Jukebox is opening up for the first time in 2021, and it’s an iconic single from 1979 which finds its rightful place in there this week.
