The Archbishop of Wales, the Most Rev'd John D E Davies, offer a personal reflection on the events of Holy Week leading up to the Crucifixion. He contrasts the crowds that feature in the Gospel narrative of Matthew with the current eerie silence of our towns and cities under the lockdown. The Crucifixion, he argues, took place not on a 'green hill far away' but on a stinking rubbish tip, Golgotha or 'Skull Hill'. But Love was not to be murdered on the garbage tip. The meditation features sacred music and readings from the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
