Harry's Giant Pledge and Humble The Poet
Kate and Jason hear about a very special little boy, Harry Shaw, who inspired Lewis Hamilton with his fight against cancer. And we meet Sikh rapper and youtuber Humble The Poet.
Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad's Charity Champion is the father of an amazing little boy. Harry Shaw's brave phrase when he was being treated for cancer was 'let's get it done'. Diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer, Ewing's Sarcoma, Harry inspired many with his stoicism, including his hero, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who dedicated a Grand Prix win to him. Sadly Harry died, aged 5, in June 2019. Harry's family have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for research into Ewing's Sarcoma and other childhood cancers under the banner of 'Harry's Giant Pledge', Dad James joins Kate and Jason to tell them about the family's fundraising and his very special son.
Plus Humble The Poet is a Canadian Sikh rapper, poet and youtuber with a huge social media following. Formerly a primary school teacher, He's the author of international bestseller 'Unlearn: 101 Simple Truths For A Better Life' and new title 'Things No One Else Can Teach Us'. His books are filled with nuggets of wisdom to help readers navigate the turbulence of life, see the silver linings and learn from our mistakes. He tells Kate and Jason about his rocky start becoming a rapper, nearly going broke, and being the victim of racial prejudice – to reveal how a change in mindset can radically alter our outlook.
And we're back in our Spiritual Gym - where discover something new that can help us all feel better. Dr Megan Rossi is also known as the Gut Health Doctor, both Jamie Oliver and (Deliciously) Ella Mills are fans. The Kings College Research Fellow tells Kate and Jason about how the health of our gut can affect our mental health. Plus she shares simple diet tips and yoga postures that can help us all give those microbes some love.
