Prime Minister Theresa May will tell the EU it needs to be more flexible on the Irish border in a speech on Brexit in Belfast

Prime minister Theresa May will call on the EU to evolve its position on Brexit this morning in Belfast.

Prime Minister Theresa May will call on the EU to evolve its position on Brexit this morning in Belfast.

Regarding the White Paper published last week, the PM will say that she has developed proposals for the future and it is 'now for the EU to respond'.

She will add that the EU should - 'Not simply fall back onto previous positions which have already been proven unworkable. But to evolve their position in kind. And, on that basis, I look forward to resuming constructive discussions.'

The UK and EU have both agreed, of course, that there should be no hard border in Ireland after Brexit, but are at odds on how to achieve it. The EU has proposed a backstop that would mean Northern Ireland staying in the EU customs union.

However, the UK has rejected that.

Also on the programme, Falls Road business owner claims new bus lanes has forced him to close his deli, Stephen speaks to inspirational cancer survivor who is to climb four of Ireland's highest peaks in 24 hours - doing it on crutches. And, Belfast's new George Best Hotel is set to have a statue of the Man United legend on the roof. Would you welcome it?

The new George Best Hotel in Belfast is set to have a life-size statue of the football legend on the rooftop.

Artists' impressions of the Hotel, which is due to open in November at the back of City Hall, show the Manchester United legend looking across Donegall Square.

Images of the planned statue were unveiled by the team behind the hotel project and George Best's family.

An award winning deli in West Belfast says it is closing it's doors today because it says the new Rapid Transit bus lanes will cripple the business.

Patrick Tracey opened Little Mexican Deli on the Falls Road two years ago but says the 12 hour bus lane that will start operating next week will stop customers parking outside the doors.

Nikki Bradley

Already a survivor of a rare form of cancer, Letterkenny woman Nikki Bradley is determined to cram as much adventure in to her life as possible

She's done some incredible things in her life already - but Nikki's next challenge is to climb four of Ireland's highest peaks in 24 hours - and she will be doing it on crutches.

For Nikki it is a way of raising money for cancer charities. What's more, it is also her last big challenge before she has her right leg amputated.
