This morning's headlines are a bit of a throwback to darker times in Northern Ireland. Shots fired at police and petrol bombs thrown in Derry last night and there was disorder in East Belfast and a heavy security presence after a controversial bonfire was set alight. Vinny spoke to Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd, local Pastor Lucas Parks, Mark Lindsay from the Police Federation of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Cllr Jim Rodgers.
Also on the programme, there might be a ban on using your hosepipe on your garden but not, it seems, on your windows. In fact, it looks like the whole ban maybe isn't even legal. Has no legal authority. That's the claim in this morning's News Letter. The paper claims NI Water has used powers it didn't have to ban you from using a hose to wash your windows or give your boat a good wash. So is the ban legally enforceable? And under what circumstances can you get your hose out? Vinny spoke to the News Letter's political editor Sam McBride and commentator Fionola Meredith.
And, the chances of Stormont resuming business any time soon would appear to be somewhat remote - we're already a long way from the deal that wasn't a deal of February and this week the DUP MP Jim Shannon did his own version of never, never, never. Mind you, we've heard the words never, never before and they don't always have permanence. So, are there even rumblings of talks between Sinn F茅in and the DUP, even a watercooler conversation? Vinny spoke to commentators Chris Donnelly and Alex Kane.
All that and more on the biggest show in the country.
