Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Paco Pena, riverrun, Exhibit B
Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco Pena perform live, plus Janice Forsyth hears about Zulu ballet Inala and Irish theatre hit riverrun.
Janice Forsyth presents a special programme live from The Hub in Edinburgh, home of the Edinburgh International Festival which starts today. Janice is joined by world-renowned flamenco guitarist Paco Pe帽a, whose latest work is inspired by the writings of Federico Garc铆a Lorca. Ladysmith Black Mambazo sing live, and choreographer Mark Baldwin and composer Ella Spira talk about creating "Zulu Ballet" Inala. And South African playwright Brett Bailey discusses his work Exhibit B, inspired by Victorian ethnographic exhibitions, which places Africans in display cases in an examination of colonial history and attitudes towards immigration.
There's also highlights from the Fringe, as comedian Lucy Porter explains why she was inspired to turn her hand to playwriting by the story of a group of young women from 18th century Edinburgh, and Irish theatre-maker Olwen Fou茅r茅 on the extraordinary task of turning James Joyce's Finnegans Wake into one-woman play riverrun.
