Janice Forsyth talks to Simon Callow about his one-man show Juvenalia, David Hayman discusses new play The Pitiless Storm and there is live music from Lady Rizo.
The Culture Studio's mid-week offering at the 成人快手 Blue Tent promises to brighten up your afternoon whether you're in the audience or listening on the radio. Janice Forsyth will be talking to Simon Callow about 'Juvenalia' - The one-man show, could be described as historic stand-up comedy. It was written by the Roman 'Juvenal', who was born around AD 55 and last performed the piece, that attacks the decadence of Rome and lambasts almost everyone, in AD 100! It's a scabrous commentary on his own times but startlingly pertinent and laugh-out-loud funny: filthy and deeply, gloriously, politically incorrect!
Award-winning pianist, singer, songwriter and film nerd, Joe Stilgoe, will be performing and talking about how he is paying tribute to 100 years of Hollywood cinema and the film music that shaped his own musical life.
Another great actor - Mr David Hayman joins Janice to discuss is new play, 'The Pitiless Storm' and we'll have more music and conversation from the wonderful 'Lady Rizo' who is back at the Fringe with her unique, glamorous, intimate musical show. 'Dumb Instrument', formed in Ayrshire in 2006 when they collectively decided that playing music collectively was 'more fun than fun', will also be playing live.
All that. and thought-provoking theatre, with Rhodri Miles, who is appearing on stage at the Festival portraying not one, but two remarkable Welsh Icons - Dylan Thomas and Richard Burton!
