Edinburgh has been named as one of the top destinations for Scots choosing to holiday at home. A survey carried out by a hotel chain suggested that 81 per cent were opting for a so-called staycation this year, up from 57 per cent in 2013. Further research findings also revealed that over half of Britons reported that holidaying at home offers much better value than going abroad as the average foreign break costs 拢1,113.91.
