Following a network of forgotten steamer routes, Paul Murton canoes his way through the west coast of Scotland, as well as going by car in search of sunshine on the east coast.

Following a network of now forgotten steamer routes, historian Paul Murton canoes his way through the beautiful west coast of Scotland.

Beginning at Loch Eck, Paul travels from loch to loch in Argyll, stopping off to visit Inverary and the ancient site of Dunadd at Kilmartin Glen, before travelling across to Islay.

For his second adventure, Paul goes in search of sunshine on the east coast, which claims to have the best record for sunlight in Scotland. To capture the holiday spirit and to chase the sun, Paul travels by Morris Minor to follow his route up the east coast from Carnoustie to Montrose, Stonehaven, and on to Aberdeen.
