Lindsay Cannon travels to the Silver Flowe blanket bog in Dumfries to assess the damage caused to this important 'living history book' by a wildfire in April 2007.

The Silver Flowe blanket bog in Dumfries is a site of international importance. This 'living history book' not only gives clues to past vegetation, climate and human development, but the area is also teeming with plants and animals.

In April 2007 a wildfire ripped through the bog, so Lindsay Cannon travels to this remote and precious ecosystem to assess for the first time the damage caused by the fire.
